The case of smuggling 320 tons of crab to Asia was opened in Vladivostok

A major seafood smuggling scheme has been identified in Primorsky Krai. During an inspection by the prosecutor's office, it turned out that two companies from Vladivostok underestimated the cost of live crab, which was exported to Asian countries.
According to PrimaMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office, more than 320 tons of illegally exported crab were found. Due to the underestimation of the cost, customs duties in the amount of 9.7 million rubles were underpaid. The supervisory authority noted that the calculation of unpaid amounts was carried out on the basis of current prices for this product.
Criminal cases have been initiated under the article on the smuggling of strategically important goods. The attackers face up to seven years in prison. The investigation is under special control of the regional Transport Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier it was reported that Russia may increase fish exports to China in 2025. This forecast occurred against the background of the introduction of import duties of 10% on fish and seafood from the United States by China on March 10.
