Russian tourist told about shark attack in Maldives

A Russian tourist was injured in a shark attack in the Maldives. She told Izvestia about this on April 17.
"At some point, I just saw abruptly, in a few seconds, that she [the shark] was directly opening her mouth, already swimming at me, I pushed her away with my left hand, and due to this, the bite turned out to be ragged, and the wound was also ragged. But she bit right through it," the girl said.
The girl added that she had already been on a similar excursion four years ago. This time, everything went as standard, about 15-20 vacationers participated in the dive, and two escorts conducted a briefing. The incident occurred near the end of the tour, after half an hour of swimming with sharks.
"They were really poorly anesthetized, the medicine there is not very good," Ekaterina explained.
According to Ekaterina, she had travel insurance, but the insurance company refused to cover medical expenses.
"If I was just swimming in the ocean, it would be some kind of force majeure, then they would probably cover it. And since there was some kind of excursion aimed at this, they don't seem to be responsible for it. That is, you take the risk yourself, realizing that something could happen to you. <...> That's how they explained it to me," the tourist said.
As a result, the expenses, including medicines and vaccinations, were compensated by the hotel, as the tour organizer, the girl explained.
Earlier, on February 28, in the Philippines, while swimming underwater, a group of tourists was swept away by an underwater current, two of them Russians died: one drowned, the second was attacked by a shark. According to the Coast Guard, initially there were four Russian tourists — two of them were able to surface together with a Filipino diving instructor.
