The experiment on limiting the export of red caviar has been extended until August 1, 2027. The Federation Council has expanded it to other regions. Now the restrictions will apply not only in Kamchatka, but also in the Khabarovsk Territory and Chukotka.

According to the PrimaMedia news agency, the norm is set — no more than 10 kg of red caviar per passenger per flight.

The experiment began in Kamchatka in November 2022. Since that time, the volume of illegal export of poached caviar has decreased significantly.

The initiators of the experiment extension are a group of senators and deputies led by First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrei Yatskin. The press service of the upper house of parliament said that the extension of the restrictions and the expansion of the number of participants in the experiment will make it possible to more clearly determine the effectiveness of measures to block the delivery channel to the markets of illegally harvested caviar. The volume of illegal fishing should decrease, and the risks of consumption of unsafe fish products by the population should decrease.

Earlier it was reported about a significant reduction in selling prices for salmon caviar in the Far East. In the purchase from fishermen, prices for salted salmon caviar start from 4,500 rubles per 1 kg — 1.5 times less than in December 2024, for chum salmon caviar — from 5,500 rubles per 1 kg (15% lower).
