Rheinmetall to complete shell manufacturing plant in Ukraine in 2026

The German defense concern Rheinmetall will expand a shell manufacturing plant in Ukraine and complete its construction in 2026. This was announced on April 17 by the head of the company Armin Papperger.

"The plant should be built in 2026," he said in an interview with the Handelsblatt newspaper.

According to him, instead of 200 thousand artillery shells, the plant will be able to produce up to 350 thousand. Papperger clarified that about €600 million had been invested in the company for such an increase.
