Residents of the Khabarovsk Territory will take part in the large-scale environmental initiative "Choosing clean air". The action is carried out within the framework of the federal project "Clean Air" of the national company "Ecology". The purpose of the campaign is to promote eco—friendly ways of transportation and improve air quality.

This year's event will take place from May 17th to September 7th. Khabarovsk residents will switch to bicycles and scooters, choose hiking instead of traveling by car.

Special attention will be paid to sports events. So, in the village of Chegdomyn, Verkhnebureinsky district, a Merry Starts cyclocross and a mass tree planting will take place. The locality became the venue for the event because it participates in an experiment on emissions quotas.

According to the Regional Minister of Natural Resources Alexander Leontiev, quoted by IA AmurMedia, the task of halving harmful emissions into the atmosphere was identified by President Vladimir Putin as one of the targets for the implementation of national goals until 2036. It is necessary that as many people as possible learn about the federal Clean Air project and be involved in the environmental agenda.

In 2024, the campaign was able to unite residents of 2.5 thousand settlements in Russia. Together they have covered 527 million eco-friendly kilometers. The organizers expect that the figures will be exceeded this year.

Earlier it was reported that an atlas of problematic objects appeared in the Khabarovsk Territory. An Internet portal has started operating on which local governments and executive authorities leave data on problematic housing and communal services, medicine, education, road facilities and ecology. The reason for inclusion in the atlas is the residents' dissatisfaction with the facility.
