On April 17, Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, spoke about the advantages of the platform economy during the Conference of Innovative E-Commerce Technologies (KIT), which is being held at the World Trade Center in Moscow.

"The platform economy reveals these flaws in our regulation, <...> as this metabolism accelerates dramatically, any problem, even a small one, quickly becomes noticeable on a macro scale," the minister noted.

According to Reshetnikov, platforms greatly accelerate all economic processes and quickly acquire market power, so there is a demand from traditional trade for their regulation.

Speaking about the draft law on creating the legal foundations of the platform economy, he stressed that the regulation of platforms should not hinder their growth, so the rules should be set "very wisely."

The day before, the head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, said that conditions must be created in Russia for the development of a platform economy. According to her, the task is not to limit innovation, but to create conditions for fair competition, transparent rules for customers, and consumer protection providers.
