The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian police have charged Deputy Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko, Vladimir Prokopov, who was previously suspended from his duties, with transporting draft dodgers to Europe. This was reported on April 17 by the RBC-Ukraine agency, citing sources.

"According to which article, the interlocutors do not specify, but they add that the official is suspected of organizing schemes for the illegal transportation of draft dodgers to Europe," the article says.

The agency's interlocutor clarified that detailed information on the case will appear soon.

Prokopov has served as deputy mayor since 2021. Klitschko suspended him from his duties in October last year after a journalistic investigation into the real estate of his family and friends.

This morning, Vladislav Stoyanov, a refugee from Odessa, reported that employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) were taking a bribe of 20,000 euros for crossing the state border. At the same time, he said that in 2024, the SBU detained 30 people while trying to leave Ukraine, despite paying money to the military enlistment office.
