The Investigative Committee opened a case on the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a civilian car in the Kursk region.

A criminal case was opened into a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a civilian car in the Belovsky district of the Kursk region. This was announced on April 17 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

It was established that on April 4 of this year, in the village of Mokrushino, Kursk region, the Ukrainian military dropped an explosive device from drones on a civilian car. As a result of the incident, the girl driver was injured, and the vehicle was damaged.

A criminal case was opened on this fact regarding a terrorist act (paragraphs "a" and "b" of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to Petrenko, during the interrogation, the victim informed the investigators about the incident. She spoke about partial hearing loss and mentioned the damage to another car as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack, which could contain people.

"The investigation will identify and bring to justice all representatives of the armed formations of Ukraine involved in the crime," the representative of the Investigative Committee said.

On April 16, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the murder of three civilians in the Kolmakov farm in the Kursk region, committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A resident of the farm reported that in January 2025, her father, mother and brother were killed in a house where they were hiding from the fighting. The investigation is currently ongoing, and specific members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in the murder are being identified.
