In Vladivostok, two men were convicted of murdering a 30-year-old family.

Two residents of Vladivostok received almost 15 years in prison for the murder of a large family, which they committed 30 years ago. This was announced on Thursday, April 17, by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"Two men who killed a family of five 30 years ago were convicted in Vladivostok in a high—profile criminal case," the agency's Telegram post says.

It is specified that in 1994, accomplices came up with a plan to take over the apartment of a large family. They persuaded its members to make a deal to give up housing in favor of a third party under their control.

Then, in order to hide their tracks, the men came to the apartment and shot the spouses and drowned three young children in the bathtub. The prosecutor's office added that the victim was pregnant with her fourth child at the time, which the killers knew about.

The attackers hid the bodies of their victims and took possession of the property.

They were found guilty of committing crimes under clauses "e", "g", "h", and "h" of Article 102 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR ("Premeditated murder, in order to facilitate and conceal another crime, of two or more persons, a woman who was obviously pregnant for the perpetrator, by prior agreement a group of people").

One of the participants in the crime was sentenced to 14 years and 11 months in prison, and the other to 14 years and eight months. The verdict has not yet entered into force.

Earlier, on April 9, investigators in the Irkutsk region charged the "Angarsk maniac" Mikhail Popkov with murder committed almost 14 years ago. In May 2011, a man hit the victim several times with an axe. After the Assholes, he poured a flammable liquid over her body and set it on fire.
