The prosecutor's office accused the former deputy head of the Omsk government of accepting a bribe.

Vladimir Kupriyanov, the former deputy head of the Omsk Region government and the former Minister of Labor and Social Development of the region, was accused of accepting a bribe in the amount of 647 thousand rubles. This was announced on Thursday, April 17, by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"According to the investigation, in the period from 2018 to 2023, the accused received a bribe from the director of a subordinate state institution in the form of money, other property, as well as property services totaling 647 thousand rubles," the department's Telegram channel says.

Kupriyanov also allocated budget funds to the subordinate organization in the amount of more than 4.5 million rubles.

Kupriyanov is accused of receiving a large-scale bribe by an official holding a public position in a constituent entity of the Russian Federation (paragraph "b" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Under this article, he could face up to 12 years in prison.

The former official did not admit guilt. The court seized his property and funds totaling 26.6 million rubles.

On April 15, Dmitry Vavrinchuk, a member of the regional government and director of the Department of Road Management and Transport, and his first deputy were detained in the Ivanovo Region on suspicion of receiving more than 50 million rubles as a bribe. Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").
