- The Telegraph reported on Britain's support for the supply of Taurus missiles by Germany to Kiev.

The UK will support Germany's decision to supply Taurus missiles for the needs of the Ukrainian army. This was reported by The Telegraph newspaper on April 16.
"On Wednesday, a British foreign policy official said that the UK has long been in favor of Germany transferring Taurus missiles to Ukraine and would support this step if the new Chancellor [Friedrich Merz] takes it now," the publication clarifies.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who lost the election, refused to supply such weapons to Kiev for fear of a "serious escalation" with Russia.
"We continue to work with our partners, including Germany, to arm Ukraine as best we can," a British source said.
On April 17, the Bundestag announced an increase in skepticism in Germany regarding the shipment of Taurus to Ukraine. Earlier, on April 14, Friedrich Merz, leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), announced his readiness to transfer Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine in coordination with European partners.
