A case was opened in Kamchatka on the fact of illegal gambling


In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the investigation opened a criminal case against six local residents on the fact of illegal gambling. This was announced on Thursday, April 17, by the Regional Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal organization and conduct of gambling by a group of persons").
"According to the preliminary version of the investigation, it follows that six defendants <...> sought out non—residential premises <...> for the purpose of illicit enrichment, where they organized gambling outside the gaming area using gaming equipment and <...> the Internet," the agency said in a Telegram channel.
They clarified that the accomplices were aware of the prohibition of organizing and conducting gambling in the Kamchatka Territory in accordance with the law.
The defendants provided visitors to the gaming area with a place at a personal computer containing virtual gambling games. As a result of the defeat in the game, the participants' funds went to the gambling establishment, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory said.
Investigators seized computers and mobile phones during the search.
The details and circumstances of the incident are currently being established.
Earlier, on March 21, it was reported that in Lyubertsy, Moscow region, police detained six people suspected of illegally organizing and conducting gambling. A criminal case has been opened against the suspects.
