The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are making unsuccessful attempts to deceive Russian military personnel with dummy drones. On April 16, the fighters told about this in an interview with Izvestia.

The commander of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) with the call sign Maestro explained that the Ukrainian militants launch fake UAVs before attacking with real drones. Their goal is an attempt to defuse Russian technology. However, the Ukrainian militants failed to deceive the experienced military of the Russian Armed Forces, the Maestro noted.

"The military has a whole collection of Ukrainian drones. <...> A small firing group shot down a curious drone. The drone is false — there is no warhead. Ordinary plastic," Alexey Poltoranin, a military correspondent for Izvestia, showed.

According to the Maestro, the cost of such dummy drones is 50-70 thousand rubles. The Russian military immediately identifies them and uses only automatic cartridges for them.

Earlier, on April 16, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Guard Junior Sergeant Pavel Tymchuk commanded the calculation of a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) combat vehicle and received the coordinates of the concentration of equipment and reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were going to attack Russian positions.
