Three people were killed and two injured in a car accident in the Orenburg region on the Orsk–Gai highway. This was announced on Wednesday, April 16, by the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"On April 16, at [19:45 Moscow time], the driver of a VAZ-2112 car, moving along the Orsk—Gai highway, collided with a Mazda car when entering the oncoming lane," the ministry said in a statement.

As a result of a head-on collision, the driver and two passengers of the VAZ-2112 were killed on the spot. Three people in the Mazda, including the driver, were hospitalized.

Police officers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.

On April 15, two people died in an accident in Novorossiysk. According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, the driver of the VAZ-2104 collided with a Mercedes car during a turn. The driver and passenger of the domestic passenger car died on the spot.
