Expert Maria Molotstva said that even a small amount of nicotine can have a negative impact on women's health and disrupt the production of the hormone estrogen.

In conversation with the agency RuNews24.Ru On Wednesday, April 16, she noted that Erica Komasco, an associate professor at Uppsala University in Sweden, conducted a study and found that one cigarette can block the production of the sex hormone estrogen in a woman's brain.

On April 15, narcologist Ruslan Isaev said that nicotine causes the brain to produce a substance that suppresses hunger. In addition, as the specialist pointed out, at the same time nicotine stimulates the production of dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with the reward system. As a result, smoking creates a short-term feeling of satisfaction that can temporarily replace the need for food.

On April 11, Vitaly Holdin, a psychiatrist and narcologist at the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, warned in an interview with the Moscow City News agency that every cigarette smoked takes 15 minutes of life, and a serving of alcohol takes seven hours. He noted that vapes and electronic cigarettes also cause irreparable harm to health and shorten life.

Earlier Pravda.Ru She wrote that the factors influencing nicotine addiction include both physiological and genetic aspects. Genetic studies indicate that addiction can be inherited, making some people more susceptible to tobacco addiction.
