The foreign citizens detained in the Moscow bath complex may be associated with radical groups. This was announced on Wednesday, April 16, by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

"Some are suspected of belonging to radical groups," the RIA Novosti foreign Ministry said.

In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that many of the foreign citizens resisted the law enforcement officers, which is why "appropriate measures were taken against them." They added that the actions of the security forces were in line with Russian law.

The ministry indicated that the raid was not directed against citizens of any particular country. At the same time, it is clarified that the Russian side regretfully reports the apparent disregard of the detained persons for the laws of the Russian Federation.

On April 10, Moscow law enforcement agencies identified 25 illegal migrants during an inspection of a bathing complex. 18.8 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation by a foreign citizen of the rules of entry into the Russian Federation or the regime of stay in the Russian Federation"). In total, 59 foreigners were taken to the internal affairs departments as a result of the operation.
