There is no point in unilaterally extending and implementing the moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure, Russian Foreign Ministry ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik told Izvestia.

"Reaching all these agreements should take place within the framework of the negotiation process between Moscow and Washington. Russia has demonstrated its capabilities as a treaty-capable party that can assume certain obligations. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Ukraine. The ban itself and its format were established without any independent monitoring groups or other mechanisms. This was all placed on the United States of America, which initiated the moratorium. Thus, an agreement on the extension or some actions against the non-compliant party will be negotiated between the two capitals," Miroshnyk said.

The diplomat noted that when such moratoriums are established, monitoring is usually entrusted to international groups. For example, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) worked in Donbas.

According to Miroshnik, not only the extension of the moratorium is at stake, but also the continuation of U.S. assistance to Ukraine.
