Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Hamas for releasing the hostages held in the Gaza Strip. He made the corresponding statement during a meeting with the released Russian Alexander Trufanov, his mother and fiancee.

Putin also announced that he would not give political assessments of the events taking place in Palestine.
