In Dagestan, a two-year-old child died due to a cabinet fall

The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Dagestan is conducting an investigation into the death of a two-year-old child in a hospital, where he was taken after a cabinet fell on him. This was announced on April 16 by the press service of the prosecutor's office for the region in the Telegram channel.

"According to preliminary data, on April 16, 2025, at about 18:20, in a private house in the village of Sergokala, a child born in 2022, left unattended by adults, was injured as a result of a cabinet fall," the department said.

After that, the victim's relatives went to the district hospital, where the minor later died.

"During the supervisory measures, an assessment will be given of compliance with the requirements of legislation on minors," the prosecutor's office said.

It is specified that the progress and results of the procedural check in this case are under the control of the department.

On April 1, a one-and-a-half-year-old child died after falling out of a third-floor window in the city of Sertolovo, Leningrad region. It is reported that at the time of the fall, the parents were not watching the child, because they went out to smoke. Investigators are currently working with them.
