German chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz's plan for Ukraine has exacerbated disagreements between the country's parties. This was announced on April 16 by the Bloomberg news agency.

"Merz provoked a negative reaction from his likely coalition partners by stating that Germany, under his leadership, could provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus cruise missiles," the report said.

As the newspaper notes, the dispute over missiles is a sign that the center—left and conservative parties "will not be able to smooth out their differences easily."

In addition, the parties are also arguing over key elements of their coalition agreement, including raising the minimum wage and lowering taxes for low-income families.

Earlier, on April 16, British analyst Alexander Mercuris said that the future German government, led by a candidate for chancellor of Germany, would not last long due to the wrong policy. In his opinion, Merz is "not a very smart and incompetent" person who is characterized by unscrupulousness.
