Putin and Sobyanin visited the new Bauman Moscow State Technical University campus

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin visited the new Bauman Moscow State Technical University campus. As the mayor of the capital noted, during the visit, "research and development of teachers, students and graduate students in the field of space exploration, as well as in other fields, were presented."

"Baumanka is a well—known forge of personnel in the space industry. Its graduates are outstanding designers S.P. Korolev, V.P. Barmin, N.A. Pilyugin, leading employees of enterprises, as well as 15 cosmonauts," Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel, noting that today more than 4.5 thousand students study there in areas related to space exploration.

The mayor also stressed that the Russian president "takes a great part in the life of Baumanka." In particular, on behalf of the head of state, "in recent years, Russia's leading engineering university has been rapidly modernizing," Sobyanin added.

The new Baumanka campus is the first facility in the country to be built under the federal project "Creation of a network of modern Campuses" as part of the national project "Science and Universities". In total, 14 buildings with a total area of about 170,000 square meters were built and renovated. "This was achieved through well—coordinated work - the facilities were built and designed in parallel," Sobyanin wrote. "In almost 90% of cases, components and equipment from domestic manufacturers were used."

In the period from 2022 to September 2024, the cluster "Engineering in Life Sciences", the Engineering Center for Land Transport and Technological Systems, the multifunctional scientific and educational building, the Central Cluster, the multifunctional complex "Quantum Park" and the complex of dormitories were opened. In parallel with the construction of the research cluster, work was carried out to improve the transport infrastructure in the university area, the mayor of Moscow recalled.
