- The Federation Council called on Trump to lift sanctions against Russia in the aviation sector

The United States should lift anti-Russian sanctions in the aviation sector against the background of China's refusal to purchase Boeing aircraft. This was announced on April 16 by Alexey Pushkov, head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy.
"In light of the loss of the Chinese market, [US President Donald] Trump needs to draw conclusions. Apparently, it's time to lift economic sanctions against Russia, primarily in the aviation sector," Pushkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Pushkov noted that this would be a severe blow to the American economy and to Boeing, which has been experiencing difficulties in recent years.
A day earlier, Bloomberg reported that China had urged its airlines not to accept further deliveries of Boeing aircraft in retaliation for the increase in US duties to 145%. On the same day, Trump criticized Beijing's ban, also mentioning China's "cruelty" to American agricultural producers.
On April 12, American economist Jeffrey Sachs admitted that the negotiation process between the Russian Federation and the United States was moving towards the abolition of American restrictions. He also noted that he does not see a threat from Trump's "tariff war", as he believes that this will not have a direct and strong impact on Russia.
