A child died in a mine explosion in the Belgorod region.

In the village of Malomikhailovka in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region, a 10-year-old boy died due to the explosion of a mine planted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 16 by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
"A 10-year-old boy picked up a bell mine from the ground, and it exploded in his hands. Unfortunately, the child died from his injuries before the ambulance crew arrived," the head of the region said on his Telegram channel.
Such mines are a common type of Western-style cluster antipersonnel mines. They can be delivered using rockets with a special warhead or drops from drones.
Glavdov recalled the strict prohibition on lifting any objects from the ground in the border area.
On April 8, a tractor hit a mine in the Belgorod region during field work in the Belgorod region. The driver received multiple shrapnel wounds and received the necessary assistance.
