At the end of the moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure, Russia will have a free hand, so it is possible to respond to strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, said this on Wednesday, April 16.

The MP recalled that the moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure had been concluded for 30 days. He noted that Russia had fulfilled the conditions, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had not paid any attention to the agreement.

"They hit the infrastructure of the Russian Federation, yesterday there was a particularly powerful raid, but from today we are free in our actions. We'll keep looking. It is up to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to decide where and when to strike, so that it is expedient and for military and political purposes. We'll see. They were warned more than once. We have withstood our 30 days, as promised, we have kept our word, now our hands are free, so let them wait," Kolesnik warned in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 16 that the Kremlin was not yet ready to comment on Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to extend the moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure facilities between Russia and Ukraine. 360.ru .

Earlier in the day, a criminal case was opened in connection with a targeted attack by Ukrainian Armed Forces militants on an energy facility in Kursk.
