More than a third of drivers in the Russian Federation used toll roads in a year

Since April 2024, more than 35% of Yandex.Maps users have used toll roads. They have built more than 470 million such routes, which is 56 million more than a year earlier, analysts of the service told Izvestia on April 17.
Such routes were most often built from the Novgorod Region (27% of routes in this region passed through toll roads), Voronezh (24%), Tver (23%), Lipetsk Region (22%) and Vladimir Region (20%).
The top ten was completed by the Tula, Smolensk, Kaluga and Rostov regions, as well as St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Moscow and the Moscow Region were not included in the list of leaders in this indicator: only 6.3% of the routes built in these regions were on toll roads.
The day before, it was reported that almost a quarter (23%) of Russian residents do not have driver's licenses and do not plan to receive them. Yaroslavl holds the record for the number of those who do not want to study at a driving school and take their driver's license exams. This was reported by 48% of the surveyed residents of the city.
Also on Wednesday, it became known that the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation proposed to allow the subjects of the federation to conclude agreements with the state-owned Avtodor company to co-finance new toll roads of federal significance. The draft law has been published on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
