Major repairs of Turgenevsky bridge started in Krasnodar

Major repairs of the Turgenevsky Bridge across the Kuban River have started in Krasnodar. This is reported by the city administration.
Last night, a new traffic pattern was already in operation on the bridge. Traffic on both sides of the crossing is regulated by traffic police officers.
"The work will go on both day and night. The situation is monitored online in our data center," said the head of Krasnodar, Evgeny Naumov, in his Telegram channel, noting that about 60 specialists are already working at the facility.
The repair of the 555-meter-long ferry is divided into four stages. According to Sergey Demidenko, the contractor's manager, it is planned to complete two of them and start the third one in 2025.
The contract provides for the completion of construction and installation work on the Turgenevsky Bridge by the end of August 2026. However, as Demidenko stated, the contractor will try to shorten the repair period.
Turgenevsky Bridge is one of three crossings across the Kuban River connecting Krasnodar and Adygea, writes KrasnodarMedia news agency. More than 29,000 vehicles leave and more than 25,000 enter it every day. Construction of the ferry began in 1978, and the first cars crossed the bridge in 1985.
