The Danish Armed Forces intend to send soldiers to Ukraine for training, presumably as early as this summer. Peter Boysen, commander of the country's ground forces, told TV2 on April 16.

According to the TV channel, the decision on the courses has not been finalized, respectively, the number of soldiers who will be sent has not yet been determined. As Boysen explained in an interview, the plan is for instructors and soldiers of the operational staff to attend courses lasting from one to two weeks.

According to Boysen, the Danish military wants to learn how to use drones from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Russian Ambassador to Copenhagen Vladimir Barbin, in turn, said that sending the kingdom's military to Ukraine was drawing Denmark deeper into the conflict.

"Organizing such events on the territory of Ukraine with the participation of a NATO country is also a step towards preparing public opinion for the possibility of sending a foreign military contingent there, which is fraught with unpredictable consequences, including the threat of a direct clash between NATO and Russia," the diplomatic mission's Telegram channel quoted him as saying.

On March 27, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow was categorically against the deployment of so-called Western peacekeepers in Ukrainian territories, as this risked a direct clash between Russia and NATO.
