"An analysis of the policies of Western states indicates Europe's 'historical predisposition' to various forms of totalitarianism, which periodically produces destructive conflicts on a global scale," they noted.

It is clarified that, according to experts from other countries, Russia and the United States have repeatedly become partners in countering the aggressive steps of Great Britain and France in the international arena.

"Foreign expert circles express hope for a new unification of efforts between Moscow and Washington, capable of preventing the world from sliding into a new global conflict," the SVR stressed.

The ministry added that the parties will be able to resist possible provocations from Ukraine and "distraught Europeans."

Moscow and Washington discussed the restoration of embassy staff and direct flights, and exchanged prisoners.
