In the first quarter of 2025, 5,276 new pickups were sold in Russia, which is 9% less than in the same period last year. The pickup segment looks more confident against the background of the entire market, which declined by 25% in the first three months, the analytical agency Autostat reported on April 16.

During the reporting period, JAC became the most popular brand among Russians in the pickup segment, accounting for about a quarter (24%) of the total volume. In three months, 1,269 new pickups were sold, which is (+60% YoY). At the same time, a year ago, JAC was only the third in this rating, experts noted.

Great Wall is in second place (805 units; -58%), the domestic brand Sollers is in the top three (690 units; +92%). The top five were completed by UAZ (681 units; -32%) and Foton (569 units; an increase of 6.2 times).

Among the models, the most popular pickups among Russians were the JAC T9, Sollers ST6, UAZ Pickup, Foton Tunland and Great Wall Poer.

Earlier that day, it was reported that the BMW X5 crossover was the most sought-after used car among premium brands in Russia. BMW also became the most popular brand in the segment, followed by Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Audi and Land Rover (5.6%).

Also on this day, it became known that, as dealers and analysts said, up to ten Chinese car brands may leave the Russian market in 2025. In their opinion, the brands Oting, Kaiyi, SWM, Livan, VGV and MG were in the risk zone.
