Alexey Smirnov, ex-governor of the Kursk region, was detained. This was announced on April 16 by a source of the Telegram channel 112.

It is specified that approximately 200 million rubles were stolen in the Kursk region out of 15 billion rubles allocated from the federal budget for the defense of the region.

It is noted that Vladimir Lukin, the former general director of the Kursk Region Development Corporation, who has already been arrested in the case of embezzlement during the construction of fortifications, testified against Smirnov.
