Izvestia presented newspapers dated May 9, 1945 to the best primary organizations of veterans

On April 16, the winners of the All-Russian review competition for the title of "The Best Primary Organization of Veterans" were awarded at the Moscow House of Veterans of Wars and the Armed Forces. Izvestia was presented to the winners of the newspaper competition on May 9, 1945.

For three years, the organizations competed for the title of the best on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

"The competition started in May 2022 and was held in three stages. The first was dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad, the second to the complete liberation from the siege of Leningrad, and the third to the preparation of primary organizations for the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory at the regional level," the press service of the All—Russian Public Organization of Veterans (Pensioners) of War, Labor, the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies said.

The winners of the competition include veteran organizations of frontline territories, as well as veteran organizations of industrial enterprises. For example, in the category of primary organizations of veterans of industrial enterprises and institutions, the Kazan State Powder Factory took the first place.

"Emotions, of course, overwhelmed us, because it was very pleasant for our primary organizations, which, we believe, deservedly became winners," said Tatyana Kuzminova, a representative of the regional public organization of the Council of Veterans (Pensioners) of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Earlier, on January 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin presented veterans with medals in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War at the Leningrad Victory concert in St. Petersburg. Jubilee medals "80 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" were awarded to seven participants of the events of those years.
