A new fire truck based on the Valdai 12 truck was presented in the Russian Federation

A new fire truck was built on the chassis of the Valdai 12 medium-tonnage truck. The model is characterized by maneuverability and small dimensions, according to a statement from the Modern Transport Technologies company, which was received by Izvestia on April 16.

The fire truck was developed jointly with RM KPG company. It is equipped with a 2 cubic meter water tank. m and a foam tank with a capacity of 140 liters. The combined fire pump allows you to extinguish a fire using both conventional barrels of normal pressure and finely distributed jets. This ensures economical water consumption with increased fire extinguishing properties, smoke deposition, and the ability to extinguish fires in high-rise buildings.

The cabin is connected to a superstructure that allows firefighters to move around inside the cabin and stand up to their full height. It accommodates five combat crew members in full armor and is made of heat-resistant, lightweight and impact-resistant composite materials, the company noted.

The fire superstructure is mounted on a Valdai 12 long-wheelbase chassis (8 m in length). The high angle of rotation of the front wheels (50°) and a turning radius of 8.4 m make it possible to work in narrow driveways and in city courtyards loaded with transport, as well as in warehouses and industrial areas. The model's height does not exceed 2.8 m. The car is equipped with a YaMZ-534 diesel engine (169 hp; 662 Nm) paired with a 6-speed transmission.

Earlier, on April 11, Russia unveiled a new model of a tanker truck made on the chassis of a Valdai 12 bonnetless truck. Such equipment is intended for transportation of light oil products, refueling of special equipment at the point of operation and households.

On March 28, the Valdai 12 bonnetless truck received a new modification, and a compact model of a combined road vehicle (KDM) was built on its chassis. In winter, the car is used to remove snow and ice chips, treat surfaces with anti-icing reagents, and fill icy areas with sand. In the warm season, KDM carries out watering and washing of the roadway.
