Russians talked about accounting for income and expenses

Among the Russians surveyed, more than half (53%) keep records of income and expenses. Another 18% plan to start doing this, while 29% do not consider how much they earn and spend. This is stated in the results of a study by analysts of the Humopeu wallet, which were reviewed by Izvestia on April 17. By the International Money Day, experts have studied the specifics of budget management by Russians.
For many, financial planning has become a habit. So, 43% do calculations in their head, and 24% use banking applications for this purpose. Another 15% of respondents keep a budget the old-fashioned way: they write down income and expenses in a notebook. Only 8% fill out tables in Excel, and 6% use special financial applications. Some people also write notes on their phones.
For 80% of the respondents, the main item of expenditure is food. For 40% of respondents, these are also clothes and shoes, for 35% — rent and housing and communal services, 28% — expenses for medical services and medicines, 22% — for transport, 14% — for cultural leisure, 9% — expenses for cafes and restaurants, travel and recreation.
At the same time, 29% of respondents learned how to optimize their expenses, 24% began to save more money, and 17% gained a sense of stability. Another 8% of respondents do not notice any changes.
However, 61% of Russians want to improve their financial literacy and are ready to study. According to 21% of respondents, they are already studying, and 18% of respondents say that they are satisfied with everything.
"Russians understand the importance of financial literacy and strive to use all available financial and investment products. This opens up more opportunities for savings and gives confidence in the future. Modern digital solutions, banking applications, and AI make financial management easier, more accessible, and more efficient," said Andrey Yefimochkin, Director of Retail Products at YUMOPEU.
Earlier, on April 16, it was reported that half of the Russians surveyed (51%) positively assessed their knowledge and skills in the field of personal finance. The rest (49%) admitted to having various problems related to a low level of financial literacy. This is stated in the results of the Renaissance Insurance Group survey, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 16.
