A man and a woman died in a fire due to an unopened cigarette in Transbaikalia.

In the village of Kyra in the Trans-Baikal Territory, a man and a woman died as a result of a fire in a private house. According to preliminary data, the fire could have spread due to an unopened cigarette, according to the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
The fire occurred the night before, on April 15, in a one-story apartment building on Sovetskaya Street. Rescuers arrived and found the bodies of a 41-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man in one of the rooms. They died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
