Premium winter tires in Russia have risen in price more than summer tires

During the year from March 2024 to March 2025, the average price of premium summer tires for passenger cars increased by 3.6%, while winter tires increased by 8.9%. This was announced on April 16 in its Telegram channel by the National Agency for Industrial Information (NAPI).
If in March last year the average price of a winter tire in this segment was 25 thousand rubles, then by March 2025 it had increased to 27.3 thousand rubles. The peak value for the year was recorded in January — 28 thousand rubles.
In March 2025, the average price of premium summer tires reached 30.6 thousand rubles, whereas a year ago this figure was 29.5 thousand rubles. By October last year, the price had risen to 29.8 thousand rubles, and after a short-term decline, it began to rise again.
On April 3, auto expert Nikolai Pogulyaev recalled that worn tires significantly increase braking distance, and traction deteriorates with critically low tread depth. Tires with a small tread drain water worse, which increases the risk of aquaplaning.
On March 31, auto expert Alexey Abrameytsev said that the most common mistakes when replacing winter tires with summer tires are replacing tires with summer tires too early, self-"overshooting" and installing worn tires.
