- In Britain, a lawsuit was filed against Google for $6.6 billion due to its "dominance" in the market

In the UK, Google has been sued for 5 billion pounds ($6.6 billion) for abusing its "complete dominance" in search. CNBC reported this on April 16.
"Google in the UK has filed a claim for possible damages in the amount of 5 billion pounds ($6.6 billion) in connection with accusations of the American technology giant abusing its "almost complete dominance" in the online search market in order to raise prices," the publication says.
The lawsuit was filed with the British Competition Appeals Tribunal on behalf of hundreds of thousands of organizations located in the UK that used Google's search advertising services from January 1, 2011 until the filing of the document.
It is clarified that the company previously worked with phone manufacturers to install Google Search and the Chrome browser on Android devices. She also paid Apple billions of dollars to install Google as the default search engine in the Safari browser.
"Consumers and advertisers use Google because it's useful, not because there are no alternatives," an Apple spokesman said.
On March 7, the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction reported that the Tagansky District Court of Moscow had fined Google 3.5 million rubles. According to the Izvestia correspondent, the company did not remove advertisements for alcoholic beverages, which contributed to the inciting of underage children to illegal activities.
