The hotel in Hurghada, which Russian tourists complained about, had unsanitary conditions, and the dishes in the dining room had to be rinsed with boiling water before eating. Sofia, a guest, told Izvestia about this on April 16.

"The sanitation is complete, the mess in the dining room, where the bar is, in the corner, there's just a terrible stink. <...> The tables are sticky, the chairs are sticky," the woman said, adding that she was horrified by the situation in the hotel.

According to the guest, she took boiling water, poured it into plates to process them, the same thing happened with cutlery.

Earlier, reports appeared online that more than 300 tourists from Russia were urgently relocated from a hotel in Hurghada due to unsanitary conditions and lack of electricity. The Consulate General of the Russian Federation denied the information about the emergency relocation. Russian Vice Consul Nikita Shilin, when the Russians checked into the hotel, there were problems with electricity, and some of the tourists did not like the buffet food. After receiving complaints, everyone was given the opportunity to change their place of stay. The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) informed Izvestia that it was checking the information about the situation at the hotel.
