A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that units of the "Southern" group of forces liberated the Kalinovo settlement in the DPR, units of the Zapad group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

"Air defense systems destroyed 11 JDAM guided aerial bombs and four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured in the United States, as well as 223 aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles," the Defense Ministry said.

In addition, tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation damaged the infrastructure of the military airfield, the assembly site of unmanned boats, the ammunition production and repair of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces in 139 areas.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 661 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 52,089 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,859 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,536 multiple rocket launchers, 23,718 field artillery and mortars, 34,172 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
