At a plenary meeting on April 16, the Federation Council approved a law establishing a complete ban on foreign agents from carrying out educational and educational activities in Russia, regardless of the age of students.

The document, developed by a group of State Duma deputies, supplements the law "On Education in the Russian Federation" and provides for a complete ban on the participation of foreign agents in educational and educational activities with both children and adults. Previously, such restrictions applied only to work with minors.

According to the amendments, the license for educational activities will be terminated when the organization is included in the register of foreign agents. Relevant amendments have also been made to the law "On the Control of the activities of persons under foreign Influence."

It is also established that a non-profit organization recognized as a foreign agent will not be able to be included in the register of socially oriented NGOs. Control over financial support for foreign agents is being strengthened — a ban is being imposed on its receipt not only at the federal, but also at the municipal level, including creative activities.

Earlier, on April 8, the State Duma (State Duma) at a plenary session adopted in the second and third readings a bill banning the participation of foreign agents in education and enlightenment in Russia. According to the new law, foreign agents are prohibited from obtaining the status of socially oriented non-profit organizations and receiving municipal support.
