- Peskov announced Russia's readiness to become a guarantor of the agreement between Iran and the United States.

Russia could indeed become one of the guarantors of a new agreement between Iran and the United States on the Iranian nuclear program, but this will depend on the results of the ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran. This was announced on April 16 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Moscow expects that the planned second round of the meeting will take place as agreed.
"Of course, everything will depend on the negotiations that Washington and Tehran will continue. <...> The Russian Federation remains ready to do everything within its capabilities to contribute to the settlement of the situation around the Iranian nuclear program by political and diplomatic means, we will be ready to do everything that depends on us," the press secretary of the head of state said at a briefing.
