Auto expert warned against using mineral engine oil

Mineral engine oil is devoid of important parameters that are necessary for high-quality and long-lasting operation of a car engine. Some motorists are mistaken, believing that this oil is suitable for old cars or those that are running out of motor life. This was announced on April 16 by the director of Vertex Group (manufacturer of the Tamashi brand). Konstantin Ozhogin.
"Can mineral oil provide an engine with reliability? Probably. But not for long. The constant aggression of exploitation leads to its burnout and oxidation. What do we see in the end when we open the plug on the valve cover? The smell of burning, black deposits, which will soon lead to expensive repairs," the Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Ozhogin.
Mineral oil may contain many impurities and up to 1% sulfur, which negatively affect its properties. It is suitable for various machine tools in industries where there will be no sudden temperature fluctuations and extreme loads, as in an internal combustion engine, the expert noted.
He advised using synthetic engine oil, which uses various additives that affect the endurance of the engine, the ability to cool rubbing parts and counteract oxidation. Such lubricants in factories go through a large number of treatments at the molecular level.
Earlier, on April 11, Roman Sokuev, head of the Sintec Lubricants Technical expertise center, said that due to the operation of the start-stop system, additional loads on the engine and engine oil arise, which requires special attention from the car owner.
On April 4, auto expert Alexey Kryukov said that repainting car body parts due to small chips and scratches is not worth it for a number of reasons. When selling a car, this will raise questions from a potential buyer who suspects the seller of concealing the car's involvement in an accident. At the same time, with native paint, the price of the car on the "secondary market" is higher.
