- The head of IK-2 of the Vladimir region and his deputy were detained in the case of bribes

A criminal case has been opened in the Vladimir region against the former head of correctional colony No. 2, his deputy, lawyer and others on suspicion of corruption crimes. This was reported on April 16 in the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU TFR).
According to the investigation, in 2024, two convicts serving sentences in IK-2 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Vladimir region transferred bribes to officials of the colony through intermediaries. Each of them paid 300 thousand rubles for receiving rewards and positive characteristics necessary for parole. The administration of the institution, including the head of the colony, received part of the money.
"The convict, acting through another convict, as well as a resident of Moscow, handed over a bribe to the deputy head of the colony in the amount of 170 thousand rubles for transferring to easier conditions of detention and receiving incentives in order to resolve the issue of parole in the future," the SU TFR website clarified.
It is noted that criminal cases have been initiated under articles on receiving and giving bribes, as well as mediation in bribery. The defendants, including officials, two convicts and four intermediaries, have been detained. After the cases were initiated, the colony staff were dismissed.
On April 15, Dmitry Vavrinchuk, a member of the regional government and director of the Department of Road Management and Transport, and his first deputy were detained in the Ivanovo Region on suspicion of receiving more than 50 million rubles as a bribe. Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").
