Remembering the story: on April 25, the "Dictation of Victory" will take place

On Friday, April 25, the Dictation of Victory— an international action dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, will take place. The event will be held for the seventh time and will be the largest in 2025. It will be possible to take part in it both on special platforms and online. Read more about the event in the Izvestia article.
"Dictation of victory" on April 25: how will it go, the story
For the first time, the Victory Dictation was organized on May 7, 2019, when it was written by more than 150,000 people from 24 countries. Subsequently, the number of participants increased and reached 2 million in 2024.
People of all ages can write a dictation, thereby testing their knowledge of the events and heroes of the Great Patriotic War or learning something new about the exploits of their ancestors. The dictation duration is 45 minutes. During this time, it is necessary to answer 25 questions.
In 2025, to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, the largest dictation will be organized. More than 27,000 sites will be opened in Russia alone. In addition, you will be able to participate in testing online. Educational organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Education, pedagogical universities and colleges will also become venues. In addition, it will be possible to write dictation on a nuclear icebreaker, an orbital station, in theaters, museums, and even in a special operation zone.
Venues for the international campaign will also be organized in many countries around the world. There will be eight in China, 21 in Kyrgyzstan, and one each in some European countries, such as Spain, France, Italy, and Finland. In total, people from 85 countries will be able to write dictation. Last year, there were representatives from 61 countries.
The purpose of the event is to increase historical literacy and patriotic education of the younger generation, the formation of moral values among young people, which are based on the undistorted historical truth about the real events of the Great Patriotic War.
According to the organizers themselves, the relevance of the project lies in the fact that in a number of Western countries they are increasingly resorting to attempts to rewrite the history of Russia and the Second World War, as well as to revise its results in their favor and denigrate the important events of those years, while belittling Russia's role in achieving victory. All this makes it especially important to protect Russia's history from these distortions.
Preparation for the "Dictation of Victory": test tasks
Anyone can take a preliminary test for knowledge of the historical events of the Great Patriotic War. They can be found on the official website. Most of the options are presented in Russian: the preparatory test (2025), the Balaton defensive operation, the liberation of Rzhev, the Yalta Conference and many others. There is also testing in English and Chinese.
Photo exhibition about the history of the Dictation of Victory campaign
On April 11, it was reported that a photo exhibition dedicated to the history of the Dictation of Victory campaign opened on Gogol Boulevard in Moscow. This was done by the United Russia Party in cooperation with the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO) and the Victory Museum.
There are 16 two-sided stands on the boulevard where you can view photos from the dictation venues, statistics and information about how the action developed.
"Today we are opening an exhibition on our traditional site, Gogol Boulevard, dedicated to the upcoming Dictation of Victory. For us, this exhibition is not only photographs from previous years, but also gratitude and memory," Alexander Sidyakin, head of the Central Executive Committee of the EP, coordinator of the Historical Memory party project, said at the opening of the exhibition.
According to him, the "Dictation of Victory" is a counteraction to the falsifications of history, which the party is actively fighting.
