The Rada voted to extend martial law in Ukraine until August.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has supported the extension of martial law in the country for 90 days, said Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Ukrainian parliament, on April 16.
In his Telegram channel, he noted that 357 deputies supported the extension of martial law until August 6 of this year, and one opposed it, Alexei Goncharenko (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist).
The Rada also agreed to extend the general mobilization for 90 days, Zheleznyak said. According to him, 346 people voted for the initiative, one voted against (Alexey Goncharenko, listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) and another deputy abstained.
The day before, it was reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the parliament a bill on the extension of martial law and mobilization in the country. According to a document published on the website of the Ukrainian parliament, martial law and mobilization will be extended from May 9.
In February, Zelensky said that after reaching a ceasefire with Russia, martial law could end. In his opinion, a cease-fire is impossible without guarantees of security to the Ukrainian side from Western countries.
