Rospotrebnadzor has prepared a requirement to provide documents on the drug content in popular weight loss products — "Molecule" and "Molecule plus" after the publication of information in the media. This was reported in the press service of the supervisory authority.

In an official request, Rospotrebnadzor requires disclosure of information about companies and entrepreneurs distributing these potentially dangerous drugs on the Russian market.

The press service added that the situation remains under the control of the department.

Earlier, as part of a laboratory study conducted by Izvestia, it was revealed that the "Molecule" weight loss drug contains the potent narcotic substance sibutramine. It is specified that criminal liability is threatened for its distribution. It was also revealed that as a result of taking the "Molecule", consumers may experience a number of serious side effects. Among them are arrhythmia, tachycardia, insomnia, and panic attacks.
