The Russian Ministry of Defense has filed two new lawsuits against the Telta plant in the amount of more than 63 million rubles. This is on Wednesday, April 16, according to the file of arbitration cases.

"The court has received two statements of claim from the plaintiff, represented by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, against the defendant, represented by JSC Perm Telephone Plant Telta," the court said.

The defendant in the lawsuit is the Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) Main Directorate of Special Construction.

Earlier, on April 7, the Investigative Committee announced the completion of the investigation into the theft of the heads of the Telta plant. It was established that in 2017-2021, the company signed contracts with the state customer for the supply of communication devices worth more than 1.4 billion rubles. During the execution of the contracts, the defendants entered false information into the accounting documents about the increased costs of purchasing a complete set of products.

On February 28, the Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced that it had been sent to court to consider the merits of a criminal case on a particularly large bribe against the former head of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin. He was detained on May 22, 2024.

According to the investigation, Shamarin received a bribe from the CEO and chief accountant of Telta. The general was dismissed from the post of Deputy Chief of the General Staff and head of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In early August, he partially admitted his guilt, although the defense insisted that the money received by the Lieutenant General was not a bribe.

On November 13, Shamarin entered into a pre-trial agreement and pleaded guilty. Nevertheless, the Lieutenant General was kept in custody, and this measure of restraint was repeatedly extended.
