- Russian Armed Forces stormtroopers captured the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold in the south Donetsk direction

Soldiers of the assault units of the Vostok group of forces have captured a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on Wednesday, April 16, by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"We found about five pieces of equipment in the forest. There was such a good fortification. They discovered it and began to process it with artillery, tanks and drones. We've worked it out. The entire cluster was destroyed," said Mazai, the drone operator.
The military added that operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) not only detect enemy positions, but also lead and coordinate attack aircraft. The UAVs are 2 km ahead of the infantry, studying the paved path in order to report possible difficulties in time.
"For a stormtrooper, a bird is everything. We have to find a cluster of infantry and report to them (Infantry. — Ed.), so that they understand and prepare. We report on every movement of enemy infantry," Mazai said.
During the sweep of the stronghold, Russian soldiers discovered a cache of Western-style weapons left by the retreating militants, the military department said.
Earlier, on April 15, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the calculation of a 122-millimeter D-30 howitzer of the Tula Guards Airborne Unit destroyed the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with personnel and a field ammunition depot in the Kursk border area.
