The United States intends to offer more than 70 countries to reduce trade duties in exchange for limiting trade relations with China. This was reported on April 15 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.

"The administration of [US President Donald] Trump plans to use the ongoing tariff negotiations and put pressure on the United States' trading partners to limit their deals with China," the publication says.

They explained that in this way Trump would try to get trade partners to commit to isolating the Chinese market.
Under the terms of the deal, the countries will have to prohibit Chinese enterprises from being based on their territories and supplying goods through them. Among other things, the American leader wants partners to abandon Chinese industrial products.

As the WSJ pointed out, the initiator of the idea was the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. It is clarified that Trump has already received a corresponding plan.

On the same day, White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said that according to the President of the United States, the ball is on the side of China in the trade dispute between the United States and China. At the same time, she stressed that Trump is open to concluding a trade deal with the Chinese side.
