- The Bayesian yacht, which sank in Sicily in the summer, will be brought to the surface in May.

The Bayesian yacht, which sank last August off the coast of Sicily, will be brought to the surface in May. This was reported on Tuesday, April 15, by the British newspaper The Mirror, citing Mark Cam, a senior investigator at the Maritime Safety and Coast Guard Agency.
"At some stage, we plan to inspect the vessel. Rescue efforts are beginning, and we expect it to be ashore in May this year," the newspaper quoted Cam as saying.
It is clarified that the senior investigator made the relevant statement during a hearing at the Greenwich Coroner's Court (Suffolk).
In addition, Cam added that the investigation hopes to conduct surveys of the yacht within a few months.
The 56-meter superyacht Bayesian sank on August 19, 2024 due to a severe storm off the coast of Sicily. According to the British media, the ship went under water in about a minute. There were 10 crew members and 12 passengers on board the ship. 15 people managed to escape, eight of them were hospitalized. On that day, British billionaire Michael Lynch gathered guests on a yacht to celebrate the dismissal of charges against him in a criminal case of major fraud.
