The UK Maritime Trade Authority (UKMTO) has reported a maritime incident off the coast of Yemen, during which a British vessel was chased by unknown assailants. On April 15, the agency published a corresponding statement on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
"The captain of the vessel reported that armed men on several small vessels chased him for about two hours, shots were fired," the report says.
After that, the captain decided to change course towards the coast of Yemen. Subsequently, the attackers stopped chasing the ship.
It is specified that the incident occurred about 185 km from the Yemeni city of Aden.
On December 1, 2024, the British Navy reported an attack on a ship off the coast of the Yemeni port of Aden. It is specified that the incident occurred 80 miles south of the port. The incident is being investigated by the authorities.
